Mike Mulligan And His Steam Shovel

When I was little, one of my favorite books was "Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel." Mike and his steam shovel were known far and wide as the best at digging. So, upon this occasion, they were digging the basement for a big building and they were up against a deadline. So Mike and his steam shovel dug, and dug and dug and the basement was finished and the building completed on time. And under budget (I made that part up).

But when the smoke cleared, Mike and the Steam Shovel was stuck in the basement with no was to get out. Sooooo...the steam shovel bucket was removed and the steam shovel's boiler used to heat the building. Happy ending.

So my question to you is, how are those 6 or 8 big earth moving machines going to get out of the playing area ? Will they be air lifted out ? Be buried ? Is there need for a boiler in the middle of a football field ? I've looked around the sides of the playing surface and I don't see how these big machines get out. Dissambled ?

My guess is under the scoreboard tunnel. If you visualize the height of that side of the athletic center there should be plenty of heigth to move "Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel".

Yesterday there was a pic from the webcam that was snapped just as one of the earth movers was entering the field area through the tunnel opening. Looked like a relatively tight fit, but a fit nonetheless.

No offense to the poster, but these posts about the construction team seemingly not knowing how to build a facility are wearing me out.

I think this is a fascination and curiousness, not a sense of imcompetence.

Like watching "How do they do it". Interested to see the process, not doubting whether the outcome is going to be as anticipated.

But agreed, I think the team knows what's it's doing. First rodeo and all.

Looks to me like it is wedged in there. Guess we'll have to turn it in to something similar to that annoying horn TCU blows when they score a touchdown, etc...
