So just to get this straight : you can pay parents of recruits 100 of thousands of dollars , but don't you dare spend $10 on a recruiting website!!

The mystery that is the NCAA just keeps getting more mysterious every day. This I don't get. maybe we will find out more about this in a few days. On the surface, it makes very little sense to me. But as my bride often reminds me...what the heck do I know?

As the article says, it is the relationship that may exist between the service and individual institutions. For example, one of the Rivals guys in Arkansas is an obvious Razorback fan. THe fear is the relationship will lead to schools like Arkansas being made privy to information not supplied to say Arkansas State. In some states, there might not be a problem, but, in some states, it is a potential problem.

Maybe I'm just too naive or trusting but I don't see the need for the ban. Do we assume that Rivals is going to favor one school over another as the NCAA does? What is to keep a school from receiving information from an alum who does subscribe? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Don't we always complain about how players will be ranked 3*, or whatever, then commit/sign with UNT and get dropped? There has to be something to that right? I think, like many of you, that this is the least of our problems in college athletics.
