I wonder if Karen Aston will be bringing Angela Ortega with her to North Texas.

From the UNC-Charlotte site:
Angela Ortega is in her fourth season as a member of the Charlotte coaching staff. She joined the 49ers coaching staff after spending 15 years as a member of the University of North Texas coaching staff. Charlotte head coach Karen Aston and Ortega both served on the same North Texas coaching staff from 1996-98.

Ortega spent 15 years helping build North Texas into not only one of the top programs in the Sun Belt Conference, but a nationally recognized program before coming to Charlotte in 2007. As the recruiting coordinator at North Texas, she played an integral role in recruiting seven All-Conference players including, Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year Jalie Mitchell and Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year Rosalyn Reades. In 2005, she was responsible for recruiting the best class in school history.

She was not only in charge of recruiting, but she was also responsible for coaching the guards and opponent scouting. She served as the liaison between the basketball program and the athletic academic center. She was the director of North Texas summer women's basketball camps as well.

Yes, that's her name. Thanks, I couldn't remember it. I knew one of our former assistants went to join Karen. I got to know Angela when she was here and she was great. Love to see her back if this is true.

Looks like RV is really spending the money, her contract with all those incentives at Charlotte is significantly higher than Stephens. Add to that the buyout and Stephens severance and RV is definitely pouring some money into WBB. Anyone else think it is ironic that we are going with a Slinker assistant. I wonder if this deal was made before Stephens was dismissed.
