At approximately the mid-point of the regular season, the conference RPI for the Sunbelt conference is 6 out of 32 conferences. Troy leads the way with an RPI of 24 and a solid grip on a post season berth. The Trojans beat Auburn 14-6 today for a quality SEC victory. Louisiana Lafayette is sitting pretty at 69 before beating #22 Rice in Houston today. They should see a nice jump tomorrow. Western Kentucky should jump up tomorrow from their current RPI of 80 with a 15-5 trouncing of #25 Louisville today.

Predictions for W/L needs for the remainder of the season to get a post season berth, exclusive of conference autobid are:

Troy 14-13

Louisiana-Lafayette 19-9

Western Kentucky 22-6

South Alabama 21-8

Monroe and South Alabama are not officially out of the mix, but their remaining W/L needs are at such astronomical levels that we say wait til next year.

There's a solid chance the conference gets two bids with an outside shot at 3. The Sunbelt has been getting a lot better in recent years and is poised to position itself as a legit national conference.
