!!!!!Put me in for a roster spot again this year. I'm excited my family will be able to come support this event and help the Scholarship fund in Andrew's name. Lindsay (my wife) also wants to play this year so put us both down.

I'm also gearing up to avenge the "white" teams loss last year, that won't happen again. I've started to recruit some other ex-players to come back for this event to make it more memorable and possibly get more people out in support. I've gotten 3-4 maybe's so far, I should know for sure in the coming weeks, stay tuned. I'll announce them on the board once they're 100%.

I'll take an XL T-shirt and Lindsay will take a Small.

See everyone in June!

SCOTT...FANTASTIC! Glad to know you are "in" again this year...better yet, that Lindsay will be playing as well. Can't thank you enough for the support with your efforts to bring other ex-players back as well. It will be a great time to tailgate and renew friendships and perhaps to go over for a closer look at the new stadium after the game and after-game festivities! Thanks for your support...Payback is sweet, right? Welcome back "home"...with you and Andy and Brian playing (along with some others) we should be able to provide a nice amount for the scholarship fund this year.

Scott...you will have a ready made baby-sitter if you need one in my bride who will be on-hand again this year. Bring the kids! That goes for everyone else as well!

FOLKS...you really don't want to miss the fun of this event...if you don't want to play...just make plans to come and watch and be part of the pre-game and post-game festivities...ALL are welcome...no charge at all...bring your own tailgate gear or beg, borrow or steal from those already with goodies. No admission charge, but we might, just might ask you to place a buck or two in a pot for the scholarship fund. Lots of silent auction (well, several anyway) goodies to bid on as well.

This is going to be great fun.

I have confirmed All-Conference O line Jason May #64 for the 11th. He is in playing shape so should be a good pick up. He is a 2XL shirt. Jamario hasn't returned my call yet.

Now we're talking...thanks Jason and thanks Andy...will be good to see Jason "home" again at Fouts. This is going to be GREAT!

I am acting on behalf of my client, Montey Kennerson-Stevenson, former D-lineman with the Mean Green would like to signal his interest in playing.

I told him about it, and he was a close friend of Andrew and is looking forward to hitting the field.

Please let me know what he needs to do to get out there.

I'm officially signing up Luke Conder, famous DE from the glory days. He will be making the trip up from central Texas with me to participate in this event. He would like an XL t-shirt. He's been doing P90X and has two kids, so watch out...

I hopefully can make a few more announcements in the coming weeks. I have 3 maybe's I'm trying to persuade from out of town...

How many do we have committed so far? If we have enough, should we maybe make 4 teams so players aren't left onthe sideline for half of the game?

This. It seems like a whole lot more participants this year. Which is GREAT, but most of us whine like Brandon Roy when we don't get to play.

Mark, any idea how many have "committed" thus far?

If it becomes to many, you can always make some rule that only 2 or 3 ex UNT players can be on the field for one team at time. I don't think any of us would have a problem with that and it would keep the speed of the game down and prevent injury out there as well. Just a thought.

We have 35 committed players so far...don't start whining about playing time yet folks..as Andy says...lots of ways to make sure everyone gets to play...recall last year and the year before...lots of subs going in and out often...and if it's hot on the 11th you'll be happy to have a good number of players. We'll work on some items...maybe even the length of the quarters to insure adequate playing time. Going to stay with one game...two teams if at all possible...maybe teams can have some "specialists" as well...some like offense some like defense, etc. Don't fret folks...the more the merrier...

Keep those name coming...still room and with each sign-up the event just gets better and better.

ANDY....I heard you "tweaked your knee" recently. Let's be careful...don't want you limping around on a gimpy knee for this SUPER BOWL of flag football games. That rumor was head this weekend at the Denton Arts and Jazz festival...any truth to the thing?

POSTING FOR MONTEY STEVENSON...

Folks...you better be able to avoid the rush...if not, if you are playing QB, you might want to brush up on your "evasion" skills...Here are the senior year stats from Montey:

49 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, I int, 1 TD and 1 FF......anyone else really glad this is a flag football game? :thumbsu:

Glad to have you in the game, Montey...see you on June 11th.

For ME personally I love the fact that we have so many players committed this year. Lord knows I like to be subbed out a LOT. However I still plan on being in better shape this year. Just finished Austin Jailbreak and it makes the Warrior Dash look like a cakewalk.

I really hope we can keep it to two teams. Will be a blast!

ATTENTION ATTENTION!!! Breaking News....

I've just got a committment from #81 JOHNNY QUINN. He's excited that he will be able to make it this year and is looking forward to seeing everyone and being apart of this worthy cause.

He will by far be the best athlete on the field, as always!

This makes that #1 pick pretty crucial now.

He is an XL T-Shirt

Great news Scott!! What a lineup we have this year!! GMG!'

Meh. Sure, maybe we've landed ONE solid recruiting class... But I bet KRAM is just going to coast on it for the next 4 years.

How many organizers of GMG Bowl have gotten offers from BCS programs? And does anyone think our GMG Bowl teams would have gotten invites somewhere else without the automatic tie-in?

Nobody will really respect our flag football program until we start knocking off internet messageboard recreational event teams from outside the Sun Belt.

40 years ago, I watched a North Texas booster beat a Tennessee grad in a game of electric football. This is NOTHING compared to that!

Seriously, though... It's like a bowl team reunion. I'm curious to see how it turns out when the forum members who spent all their time and energy tearing down the amazing run and accomplishments of thees former players line up to play football against them.

Should be interesting.

Nervous about tripping and injuring a future Olympic Bobsled medalist.

Could my wearing the North Texas Battleflag in Vancouver (Whistler, actually) have been the inspiration for Johnny's bobsledding career? I'm gonna say yes.

Man, were there a lot of confused folks at the ski jumping hill when I broke out that flag.

I'm just throwing this out there....but wouldn't it be cool if two ex players were the team captains and picked their teams? Of course you can have only so many "ex" players on each team. Many of us have played together before so it would be kind of cool to have a little bit of the unknown as far as team selection. I think it would make it a more even playing field.

Just a suggestion. :)
