My TV will now be muted the rest of the Rangers season. I've never heard such horrific play-by-play for a MAJOR LEAGUE team.

I always loved Lewin and my dream broadcast crew would have been him and Razor in a booth together (don't care which sport). Sadly, Lewin just isn't translating to radio for me :(

We are incredibly fortunate to have someone as talented as Hank... thanks for all that you do in the booth and your extra-curricular work around town.

I agree he hasn't been very good these first two games. I'm hoping over time he will get settled into it and do better. I really like TAG but... he could do a better job too. At least TAG isn't doing the play by play casue that is just horrible if you've ever heard him do it.

As long as Rhadigan doesn't piss off Grieve, it appears that the Rangers are happy.

The problem is Grieve, who is testy and, frankly, a subpar color guy.

Rhads is getting worse and worse. That man is going to ruin the season for us all. His homerun and victory calls might be the worst in the history of broadcasting.

Since I really do not watch that much baseball on TV, I was wondering...are folks baseball fans or announcer/color/play-by-play fans? I mean, if you really are a baseball fan, why get so worked up over the "new guy"? Give the guy a chance to settle in and then see what you think. It's a change and humans, as a general rule, do not like change. Give it 90 days and see what you think. In the meantime, if you really are a baseball fan...enjoy the games.

Sure, but if the announcers detract from the experience it makes it tough to enjoy the games!

If you watch all 162 games, then you're listening to the announcers for at least 405 hours during that stretch. That's almost 17 days of "There you go boys!"

Worst victory call ever.

AND THE SIDE IS RETIRED.

Does he really need to say this every half inning? He's really starting to grate on me. Part of me is holding out hope that the Rangers will see how much people are complaining about him and go to plan B. The other part knows they won't.

Has anyone else noticed that he calls everyone Elvis Andrus when he can't immediately think of their name?

He did it again tonight... at least 2 times he said Elvis when referring to Ivan Nova.

I can get over the fact that they got rid of the guy I preferred. Thankfully, they gave me the opportunity several months ago to get that frustration out of my system. However, when getting used to a "new guy", it would be nice if they had a little bit of pbp experience or at a minimum 1 good catch-phrase. At the professional level, there should be a prerequisite that you have a couple hundred college/minor league games under your belt. I don't like being the guy that bashes somebody else for doing a job that I could never do... but they had a lot of experienced options that I know wouldn't get on most peoples nerves.

Does anyone else think that moving Dave Barnett from radio to TV would have been a better choice? Obviously, Nadel could never leave his radio post.

it appears nolan gave my post a +1

This courtesy of Shawn Williams at Dallas South News this evening... to see it all - http://www.dallassou...theories-begin/

"Fans in the Newberg Report Forums have been pretty rough on Rhads and then there's the Twitter account @AxeJohnRhadigan. When ESPN/Rangers radio pre/post game show host Bryan Dolgin (@RangersRadioBD) sent the following tweet, I immediately had a message in my inbox:

I will be on Rangers game broadcast for play-by-play/color w/ Eric Nadel tonight. Dave Barnett is on TV. John Rhadigan has night off."

Last night was so great.... other than the loss.

So, it appears one of you is Nolan Ryan and enjoy my commentary.

Another hand-crafted sports promise... more me.
