I was reading his lips the entire game, he said the words offense and score 113 times. He said the words defense and stop 3 times. Guess who got outscored by 16?

You guys never saw the way The Gregory Gymnasium used to rock. It sold out triple capacity every night and there was a Great White-style incident at least once a semester.

I miss bare-knuckled boxing. That was a man's sport.

These days, every kid gets a damn trophy for participation. The world was a lot better when they all got polio instead.

A Butler/Florida rematch from about 11 years ago (one of the best early round games I can remember that the gators won at the buzzer).

Arizona played about a perfect a half of basketball as I can remember. They shot 64% from beyond the arc -- not gonna lose too many with that kind of average.

Wait... Butler was good at basketball 11 years ago? I thought the whole team just all picked up and moved over from George Mason.

After I watched Penn State defeat Wisconsin 36-33 in the Big Ten Tournament, albeit in an era with BOTH a 3-point arc and a 35-second shot clock, my life ended. This post is actually coming from Heaven!!

Kansas could make it to the finals without playing anyone higher than an 8 seed, if Butler beats Florida, talk out being their tournament to lose.

It has set up quite nicely for the Jayhawks to this point. If I wee to reseed the teams, again going by how they seem to be playing after the Regional Semis, now I'd go with something like this.

1. Kansas

2. UNC

3. Arizona

4. Kentucky

5. Florida

6. Connecticut

7. VCU

8. Butler

That said, I think Butler has a 50/50 shot against the Gators, and UConn has Kemba Walker. So, yeah - who knows who wins today.

I think they'll be fine with Butler, since they helped draw the massive ratings for last years Final Four. You're right tho....David vs Goliath is good for ratings...David vs David isn't. Their perfect scenario would probably be UNC vs Butler in the Final.

      Is this what an “offensive genius” looks like?

      The defense was disastrous last night but stop with this "offense did enough to win" crap. A 3 and out and interception in the first 2 drives is not doing enough to win. Were it not for a defensive stop after the onside kick and a Porter 79 yard run, we'd have been down 21-0 and counting. Yes, the defense needs to do more but what high powered offense puts up 7 in a half? This team did the same crap last year. No offense in the first half and then when we put up garbage time points people say "look at the offense." The offense is bordering bad. Tulsa put up 46 on UTSA. Texas State put up 49 and even Rice put up 29. Just to show you where our "high powered offense" stands.

      Atrocious in "all 3 phases" (that onside kick was a film study discovery by UTSA) but E Morris is just a horrible game manager. Just stupid decisions on multiple levels. I wish we weren't in the bowl hunt so Caponi could be fired if at least as a symbolic action to show the rest of the staff (minus Cobbs) they need to step it up a bunch. To the decision making, it's all been said. The timeout at 2nd and 16 with 49 seconds to go when most offenses would just let the clock run out to close the half, not taking reasonable field goal attempts early on, poor playcalling (honestly surprised a screen didn't get intercepted), these things fall on Eric Morris. Just garbage level game management. It's like he's playing a video game where there's no real consequences. Time of possession was about 39 to 21 in UTSA's favor. I know Porter had huge runs but UTSA also had huge plays. Why is it that others are capable of sustaining drives and eating clock but our "elite" offense can't do so? Defenses aside, you'd think our supposed top notch offense could be more consistent. I know our defense needs to make stops more consistently but anybody please tell me why our offense isn't capable of having some 6 or 7 minute scoring drives? Morris needs to relax on the pace of game. Just idiotic at this point.
