Why not have all 16 seeds participate in play in games? Does this not seem ridiculous to anyone else? It just makes GTWON and WVU favorites in their first game to me... Why not wither make them for the 16 seeds or go back to 64 teams! And then get rid of the cit or cbi and all that garbage. What ever happened to just having one winner and none of this everyone one is a winner hippie talk we teach our kids these days!

Technically they're all in...no such thing as a play in.

Even so...I still disagree. I think all league champions should automatically be "in" -- and that all the opening round games should be bubble teams.

Just another example of their "tricking" up something that already is a great thing.

I think that this is the first year they've fiddled with it. Whether it is a good or bad thing remains to be seen. What if it provides a couple extra good games to watch (which is the intent)?

To clarify - when the NCAA announced they were expanding to 68 this year their was a big cry from people saying they shouldn't punish little conferences by making the bottom 8 teams all play each other. They suggested all 4 of these games be played by Bubble teams.

The NCAA compromised with the bottom 4 and the last 4 teams in.

Look at it this way.....there could be a year when this current seeding process....keeps us out of a play-in game. (if they just went with the bottom 8 being in play-in games).

I really didn't want them to go to 68.....but I think the way they did it....was very fair. Now if they go to 96, which they probably enventually will....that will eliminate the play-in games.

Umm... far as I can tell, there is still only one winner of the tournament.

The intent is to squeeze in a couple of more power conference teams.

Three slots were added, but one fewer non-power conference team this year.

Success.
