I saw someone post that we might be playing a play-in game if we were to win. The basis behind this argument was that in the Bracketology they had Middle Tennessee in a play-in game. Well, even though Middle finished higher in the regular season, their RPI was WELL, and i mean WELL below us. So if we win, I expect either a 15 or 16 seed.

I don't even like to talk like this yet but I don't see any way we're even a 16 seed if we were to win.

It'd be hard not to be, there are six 12's and six 16's.

RPI is important, but not the only thing the selection committee considers. However, the RPIs of the teams in the Big Dance is what is relevant for seeding discussions (not the RPI of teams eliminated like Muts). If we are to base our conjecture on RPI alone we would need to have six teams with lower RPIs than us in the final 68.

the only thing we really have going for us is that we are hot right now... if we are able to pull off another double digit win, the committee might take pity on us and give us a #15 seed

Doesn't the selection committee at least say that they try to put teams somewhat close to home? Would that have an impact on seeding, no, matter who wins?
