I saw one of the coaches when I was on the deck today. He told me that today is Junior Day, and that a lot of high school juniors will be here. But really I guess "Junior Day" is just more of the recruiting for the 2012 class....since current juniors will be seniors at that point.

If the current offers and recent signing class are any indication of who we will be signing a year from now, our return to the top of the SBC will be extremely fast.

I had heard they were expecting about 130 juniors on campus Saturday. A decent number of them were at the b-ball game Saturday night.

I can tell you this. I made the family go check out the stadjum on Saturday before the men's bball game, and the parking lot was full with overflow in the grass by the ac... we went out to the balcony, and along the way, there were tons of young men in a room by the weightroom watching some sort of a presentation, with others walking around chatting...

I felt like we weren't supposed to be there with all the activity, but I hadn't seen the stadjum in a while.... we took some pics of the stadjum and whispered about some of the people walking around.... you know, speculating that they were all 5* recruits begging to sign up and play at u of nt

Actually....many more than I was originally told (130).....as there were 176 there. Sounds like a great success. I may be wrong on this....but I could have sworn that Dodge had Junior Days---this says it was our first. Anyway:

I read it as "it was the the first junior day for this staff" in the beginning but later the article suggest that it was our first ever. When I spoke to RV on Friday he said the last staff would get 60 or so kids in for junior day. So yes, you are correct in that we have had them before.

I read both of them as indicating UNT has never had a junior day. If I could figure out how to contact the writer, I would.

Thanks, Tasty. I just received a reply with the following explanation:

Hey appreciate the question, but I might have been a little vague on my explanation.

Those previous events were nothing like this in the sense that parents, kids, and the coaches all met, had presentations, met with individual coaches specifically.

In better terms this was more of what a "junior day" is really like at other places.

Not saying anything bad about the other staff but what this was on saturday was nothing like what happened prior too.

I hope that helps. Thanks!
