ASU 55

NT 43

2:49 to go

I'm really not sure HOW happened exactly, but this game went from being super competitive to being a run away in a relatively short period of time. NT was up 3 with 9 minutes or so to go, and since ASU has outscored us like 17-4 since then.

And that contingent in Hot Springs just gets smaller and smaller...

Indeed.

But you know...this was mentioned in chat. It's kinda nice that a disappointing season now means one where we beat Big XII and SEC schools. A few years ago those sorts of wins would've been all most cared about.

On the bright side, at the very least we're forced to win that first tourney game to get to that magical 20 win season we are always so proud of. On the other hand, if we lose the next two as expected, I'm afraid that the 20 win Karma may finally abandon us.

Two years ago we also had to make the semifinals to get to 20 wins, and we did so. Granted, we were playing really well coming down the stretch that season, as Adam McCoy was playing like an All-American.

Very true, but unfortunately the only guy on this team who has the potential to score like an All-American is TT, and he hasn't shown much of that lately. I haven't given up yet, and I'll likely pack the car and head to Hot Springs if we win the first two (possibly one), but this has probably been the biggest letdown season I've experienced since I went to my first NT game as a young kid vs. DePaul. Before the season started, I would have said that we have two guys who might have a reasonable free agent shot at reaching the NBA dream, and another guy(s) who looks at JJ Barea and says "why not me," but at the moment I'm seeing a bunch of very average college basketball players. Hope we can pull off the miracle, because it will take just that based on what I've been seeing lately.

Maintaining the 20 win streak, as much as people may turn up their noses at it, is valuable. And, considering where we are at this point in the year... It's a viable goal.

I sure didn't think I'd say this when we were 13-2, but I think a 20 win season would be a pretty respectable finish for us this year. I'd hate to see that streak end.

+1, and well played.

Actually I thought the team played hard and overall had one of their better defensive games. I thought Odufuwa and Thompson despite not hitting had good games. ASU defense was just too much for this team who is just hanging on now.

I look for a good game against Denver, Saturday but little else out of this team this year. I do hope everyone shows up Saturday, these players despite a horrible finish have been part of one of the most consistent and successful periods in NT basketball history. The seniors deserve the fans gratitude particularly White, Thompson and Odufawa who have been here the longest.

Just too many turnovers and a cold offensive night. The defense seemed to step it up a notch or two. Turnovers killed UNT last night. Is that a lack of concentration or what?

OK, this Saturday is Senior night and we have several great ones to send off in the final home game with big appreciations for jobs well done representing this great university. Let's pack the Super Pit to send our seniors off from their last home game knowing the fans appreciated their efforts.

BE there...make the effort for these seniors if you can find a way or if it is anywhere near possible.

GO MEAN GREEN!

I certainly don't turn my nose up at 20 win seasons, but looking at our schedule to start the year, 20 years should have been easily reached, but 20 wins shouldn't be our goal each year. Our goals should be to win conference, win the conference tournament and make some noise in the NCAA tournament. Those should be our goals every year, and if they were, 20 wins would take care of itself.

I hate to repeat myself, but this team has won all the games it will win this year, but I couldn't agree with KRAM1 more about showing up to thank the seniors on this team for what they have done for this program. Without their success we would have never realized a recruiting class like the one just signed.
