Tennis Team Loses Again, 6-1 To Texas Tech

Bad, bad blowout loss. Would have been ok with a 4-3 or 5-2 loss with close matches, but 4 of the losses were not competitive.

Not sure where this team goes. To many upperclassmen to be losing these matches.

This was a team UNT beat last year

The two freshmen have not shown that they are capable of playing at this level. This team is only six-deep. But three of the six struggling with illness for more than a week now. Dinuta and Lee are still recovering from the flu. Ranganathan probably out until mid-March. Losing breeds losing. Need to turn this around with a win this week over their first non-ranked opponent - Utah St.
When all six are healthy, still contenders for the conference title, and top 60 ranking.
Should have been 4-2 going into match with Tech. 30 minutes away from securing the win over TCU before rain canceled the match. Mean Green's top six were better than WSU and KSU's starting line-up. Tech match could have gone either way if all were playing. They should be 5-2 or 4-3 right now. But, such is life. Time to step up. Dinuta and Lee should be healthy by end of the week. Utah St, Miami OH, and Louisville are solid teams, but all winnable, even with Ranganathan out.

Disappointing to hear about Madura, her leadership is needed. As for the freshmen, disappointed so in their results, especially considering they are playing other freshmen themselves but not winning for than 2 games a set at #5-6.

Even with how bad the team has looked as far as depth, think the girls are still the #2 team far behind FIU.

Denver lost 5-2 to Wichita State and only had 5 players.

ULL seems to be the sleeper team, as well as ULM who just beat NW State and Houston but Coach Lama should have the team in the #2 slot with ease, there is no other good team behind FIU and UNT.

Denver will be closest, but we play them later in the spring in what should be a battle for the #2 slot.

One potential problem I see is us not playing ULL or ULM this season, there are common opponents such as NW State so that will be a very important match heading to the championships as the Coaches assist in seeding the teams at Championships since there is no set league schedule where everyone plays everyone.
