I am sure someone has mentioned it before but we were just a measly 17 pts from tacking on 4 more wins last yr? That would have put us at 7-5 and possibly a bowl. Not to mention Dodge would have been retained and we would never have know an interim Coach Chico and definitely not a head coach named Coach McCarney. Rather crazy when you think about what 2 extra TDs and 2 extra FGs could have done to change the outcome of where we are at now.

Dodge got fired before WKU in which would of put of 177 pts against and 114 pts for a 63 point difference.

yeah, and just imagine how many games could have been won if he had retained the defensive coaching staff instead of bring in all the HS defensive staff. The DC that was in place at the time he was hired had already improved the defense from the year before he arrived.

And while we are imagining things. Just imagine what might have happened if in the waining moments of the 2001 NT/NMSU game the NMSU coaching staff had not made such a bone headed decision, which our safety turned into a turn over....followed by a miracle fourth down catch that won the game. NONE OF WHICH HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH COACH DICKEY'S COACHING SKILLS.

What I didn't know is that 2 touchdowns and 2 field goals equaled 17 pts.
