Good article Brett. I think whoever the coaches believe will protect the ball and make the fewest mistakes will get the nod under center. Whoever does get the starting QB job will have a pretty good running back and decent line blocking for him (I think Power will be a huge plus for the O). Call me crazy but after last season I don't know that the Sun Belt scares me as much. A Churchill quote comes to mind, "I have seen the enemy and it is us" or something like that. I mean how many times did we give up a big play on defense when it was 3rd and 14 last season? If you can get this North Texas team to play more disciplined on defense and limit the turnovers on offense you should have a fair shot with a running back the caliber of Dunbar to hand the ball off to.

Actually, that was Walt Kelly's Pogo comic strip. The actual quote is "We have met the enemy and he is us".

But, I see your point.

Few people realize that Pogo was actually based on Churchill.

Fun fact; Marmaduke is actually a thinly fictionalized chronicle of Abraham Lincoln's life and political career. SPOILER ALERT: The final comic is going to be a MAJOR downer.

Lets go ahead and move this thread. No longer discussing football.

I'm just old enough to remember reading Pogo as a kid, but I was too young then to understand it. If it still existed today, it would be on the editorial page, not on the comics page.

And Garfield is based on President James Garfield!

:thumbsu: I'll give you a +1 to offset whoever gave you a -1.

Yes...bc neither one of them will start or even get a sniff of the field unless we have injuries like last year again.

Yes, and Thomas Hobbes. Go look it up on Wikipedia. :ninja:
