Lets look at the positives: No more talk of losing JJ and no more discussion of the home winning stretch.

I hope this is the dark before the dawn but this is looking more and more like the most disappointing basketball season based on the expectations that I can remember.

I think it's obvious that TT's THE TEAM's defensive effort was a liability.

so bench the whole team and not the guy that can score you into a comeback. There is going to be...not that it matters...some animosity between JJ and TT by the end of this year considering that end is probably game 1 of the Sunbelt Tourney

Our defense improved dramatically once he hit the bench. I might have brought him back after the team got the lead down to 5 or so to see if he could get us over the hump - but i don't question the original move too much.

With this loss we can absolutely, 100% forget about winning the SBC regular season title. With Denver's loss, I guess we could still win the west division, but I highly doubt it. At this point we just need to suck it up and do everything we can to get second place in the west and a bye in the first round of the tournament. If we don't get a bye, we will not win the tourney, not with a 7 player rotation.

From an individual standpoint TT's defense didn't look any more lackadaisical than Josh, Shannon, or Holmen. That little run we went on after TT hit the bench had nothing to do with increased intensity... it was pure panic. Once we closed it to 3 the panic was over and so was the effort.

Hank asked JJ about TT directly, and he basically said when a ball was on the ground, we would stand and just look at it. Obviously, that comment was about TT. But like JJ said, Florida Atlantic set the tone the first 5 minutes of the game.

We did last year, but this years' team doesn't have what last years' team had.

I'm usually not a believer in "players only" meetings, but coaches can only do so much with lack of effort plays. The team itself has to buy in, and looking from the outside - it appears they haven't. With all the seniors this team has, some of the issues the team had tonight are really almost inexcuseable. They have to be accountable to each other.

So is Tristan in the doghouse again???

He does not get back on D.... but we also need to talk about our guard play. Josh struggled and when Domo pushes the ball he gets ahead of himself.

What about Holmen though! What a game! Our problem is we run man defense and have no depth.... but wwe fixed some things. Domo was the only one on the team who could run with number 2 and I was telling Johnnys wife they have to make that fix at half and move josh on 5. At least they fixed that, they are adapting

4352 is a good number. I'm wondering how many of those there tonight were there because of the freebie. The Pit Crew was big and loud, but they get in without additional charge anyway. The only difference I saw was some FAU fans in "50 yard line" seats. I hope we don't do a freebie basketball game again.

I've had to read board after the last few games. Last one I watched was ASU. We sure played well that game. Glad I haven't watched or listened much lately or my blood pressure would be way to high!!!

The current players on this team have elevated UNT BB a lot over the past 3 to 4 years. Johnny's not going to change his coaching style or who he is...Johnny's the BOSS. The team is going to have to grow up and understand they listen to him, play defense, play to their strength's and win. If not, it's on the players on the floor. This team is the coaches team, so if there's a power struggle, Johnny Jones will win, hands down. All these seniors are leaving after this year for pro ball, at some level after the season. They're playing for their future. If they don't want to hustle, play defense, and win games, fine. Only hurting themselves. JJ's isn't going anywhere, and doesn't deserve too. The men on this team are going to have to figure out if they want to winners and known for being winners now and after they're gone. If not, not so great but acceptable. Option 2, they get off their lazy a$*ess and play some ball. Even with short bench they should be toasting most of the teams they've played of late. They should have brought their B+ to A game and won this game, but they didn't, so be it. I'm not usually the harsh, but these young men are going to have to mature and grow up and be men, and winners. Choice is there's JJ already went to the final 4, not one of them have. If they'd start playing like they belong in a game like the final 4 our team would be fine.

Unfortunately FAU is playing like the class team of the Belt, and I mistakenly thought this team could do the same half asleep, but I was wrong. UNT is reading to many of the great stories written about who they could and should be, the class of the SBC. In the end that takes a lot of effort and the Men's BB team will have to decide if they're up to the task. :growl:

I'd thought this team had, and was already mature enough to know, and done everything above, but looks like they have work to do. Not over yet, so it's time for the real UNT BB team is going to show up and play like they want the SBC tournament, and them March Madness. If not, here's to next year!!!

Go Mean Green!!!

Sorry, but I don't believe the 4,252? number unless a thousand+ left before I arrived at the 10 minute mark of the first half. Absolute HELL getting there on 35E, but luckily most weren't smart enough to take the side road after Lake Dallas or we would never have gotten there. Yes we sucked in so many ways, but at least the two for twenty ribs and margaritas after the game were good, the ride home was smooth, and I don't have to work tomorrow. I really am kind of pissed at our effort tonight, but I don't really have the energy to elaborate on it at the moment. A bad night for the Mean Green, and time is now getting short for that to change.

So let me get this straight:

CMJ posted the score with 7:33 left and UNT had 52 points.

You're telling me that in 7 and a half minutes we only scored 3 points???????? This is depressing.

Not only does our team suck now, our SunBelt officiators are even worse. Do they get bonuses based on the number of fouls they call?
