That kid is very strong in his upper body. Everyone he engages near the LOS trying to block him he stands them straight up and goes after the ball carrier.

Nice!

Rick

I noticed the same thing. Specifically in :43 where he just blows up the blocker on the edge (I couldn't see well enough to determine if it was a TE or a tackle, though I think it was a tackle) and crushes the QB. Blood got pumping watching that.

Is his 40 time correct?

I wondered the same thing. I saw the Army Combine results, which listed 5.11, then saw another that listed in the 4.8s. I'm not reading too much into those given the pretty wide discrepancies.

Good get! Welcome Polk!

Video:

Thanks for posting those. I feel after actually seeing him that this really could be a pretty good recruit. Call me nuts, but I like a LB who knows how to tackle.

I like this quote from the Woodrow Wilson coach:

He was a four-year starter for us," Estes said. "I have had two four year starters, one was Sergio Kindle, and the other was Chard Polk. If he was 6-3, he would have Notre Dame and USC after him. He gets after the football and creates turnovers.

That's pretty good company.

Undersized and not fast enough, but somehow started 4 yrs straight, and put up nearly triple didget tackes and 14 sacks last yr.

I think there coach said it all. This guy will be a major playmaker very soon, great comeback from missing out on Hunt.

Gaines to the rescue yet again.

You're correct, that was the tackle, not the TE, bull rush, and put him on his ass then blew up the QB. Excited about this guy.
