Not true. Hunt was arguably among the top two...but with Power and Swarn still on board all is not lost.

According to ESPN Freddy Warner and Kerry Swarn are our top 2...ranking don't mean much, but that makes me feel a little better.

I've come to realize the euphemism "it is what it is" actually means:

you just got f*cked, nothing you can do about it, might not even be fair, but it's not worth talking about anymore.

Committments backing out and going other places. It is what it is.

your right swarn and power are great players and im glad we have them, but power is juco, and swarn isnt a linebacker.... Hunt looks like a grown ass man ready to smash someone in the face.... woulda been nice to have him .... still happy about the class though

Not to worry everyone, but did you see the decommit of the now auburn cb? Formerly tx tech... hopefully tech burned that bridge with warner by ignoring him for 4 months or so.

this is definitely disappointing but hey thats what happens when you have a first year coaching staff. Regardless, this is still a great class for UNT. It will only get better after this season especially after racking up some good wins

I think Zach Orr will be fine, and I would love to see Prior moved back to LB also. My greatest concern is experience at DT and some added depth for the OL.

I'd like to see that as well... Stojkovick (sp?) could be an immediate contributer here.

Oline depth and DT is still my main area of concern. When you steal things from others, you should only expect to have things stolen back from you. Not a karmic reference at all.

Do you think, in light of our 3-4 decommits this year, we'd be better off keeping them on the hush, and not publicized, or is that a non-probability because of rivals and the like?

He's an absolute beast. I know he's not the highest rated in this class, but he's the guy I'm most excited about because he can light people up so much. That onside kick recovery from his video was absolutely amazing.

I was as impressed with Stojkovic's video as any. I know that the level of competition in the prep league is nowhere near that of the FBS but he seems to have uncanny playmaking ability and I see him as another Roberson.

I am very worried about DT but a little less so for OL depth. When you lose a Drake, Gill and Santiago in one year the OL, in experience alone, is not going to be as strong. But, I believe that we have some experience, adequate size and enough talent spread about the two-deep to not suffer greatly. I think that people like Antonio Johnson and Adedipe are diamonds in the rough.

Anyone that follows recruiting is going to know of any commitments lost because it's newsworthy, especially to Rivals, Scout, ESPN, etc. I had rather know that we were in the running for some top talent and it was taken from us than not know that we were even capable of competing for the better players. There is an old adage "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" and I believe that it fits recruiting. We all know that we will have trouble competing with the Big 6 for higher ranked players but the fact that we were chosen, if only for awhile, elevates our stature in the recruiting world.
