Today's DMN has an article on two late bloomers. (one of the two is Will Juarez, O lineman from Hebron). Will played soccer for many years...before going into football. Because of that....the article states that he has very quick feet for a guy his size. The DMN says it's between us, Houston, La. Tech, Kansas and Colorado State:

In November he gave a Verbal to La. Tech. And we weren't mentioned as one of his finalists. Seeing that he's now opened things up again....La. Tech might be out of the picture. And since we are now being mentioned....maybe that bodes well for us.

Anyway....we do need another O lineman in the class.

This is an ideal type olineman to me. Soccer builds balance, foot speed, hip mobility, lateral quickness and fast twitch muscle fibers. As long as he didn't just balloon up from 205 to 270 on ding-dongs and Big Mac's, he should be quite an athlete for a big man.

Hope we can sign him, would love to have you Mr Juarez! Not far from home, can watch a Hebron Game on Friday night and have your buddies come watch you at our amazing new Stadium on Saturdays.

Why would a young man want to sign with La Tech or any other WAC school? They are looking at a future of no bowl tie-ins, possible future defections and the demise of the conference. Plus La Tech is cash strapped and will become more so as their revenue stream dries up, located in the oasis that is Ruston, La.

On the other hand, you could play at NT in a stable conference for a school that is becoming more attractive to more respected conferences, with new facilities, a growing student body, with the best looking co-eds around, in a suburb of DFW, a huge media market.
