Here's the 5* recruit everyone was looking for, not sure anyone thought it would be on the Basketball side of thing, but then again should we be surprised? This is a huge get for NT. Maybe some of you BBall guys can give us some background on how he ended up at Mizzu and now at NT and when he will be available.

Mitchell is a 5-Star Basketball recruit from Dallas Pinkston who originally committed with Missouri. Rivals had him as the #2 at his position and #12 overall NATIONALLY.

Would be the highest rank player to ever sign at North Texas in any sport to my knowledge! Keep your fingers crossed on this one as it is a game changer for us. GMG!

Did he ever actually go to Missouri, or did he back out of that commitment? Either way, this is gigantic. With him, Jordan Williams, and the rest of this 2011 class we may be seeing the start of the best basketball ever played at NT.

Edit: so it looks like he didn't enroll, so he would be eligible to play immediately??

Held out till yesterday ( the last day he could enroll at Mizzou for the year) and had to give up.

But he never enrolled, so he was never a student there, and he's not technically transferring from anywhere.

Meaning he could play next year.

dont forget he has to qualify first, which shouldnt be hard since you need a 2.0.

This just proves that it doesn't hurt to offer the "out of our league" recruits. Kudos to Coach Jones for offering at some point against Mizzou and Georgetown. It ended up working out for us.
