Vito Blog

im sorry but my mind is racing right now about what it could be..?

we might have signed a big time recruit..... any ideas who it might be?

or are we the suprise 12th team in MWC?

or is Brett Vito pulling my chain?

Any other conferences meeting?

well the Big East did announce today that they aren't waiting on Villanova so could Houston be getting their offer to the Big East and hence opening a spot in CUSA within Texas? To complete the awesomeness CUSA is prepared to vote on our admittance to the conference with only SMU standing in the way?

If this has Vito excited it has to be good. A statement like "tomorrow could be a very good day in UNT land" also leads me to believe this is something long term, and not a single football recruit (unless its like a 5* or something). Please be the MWC...Please be the MWC...

EDIT: Also, the "what might go down" wording does not seem like a recruit committment either...can't wait for tomorrow!

he said it would be a "VERY" good day in UNT land, and hes teasing it so it has to be something big!!! He also mentions that "it isnt official yet" .... so to me that sounds like either a conference invite or a recruit committing to UNT....

...plus Brett Vito wouldnt make an announcement like this for anything other than football... unless it was to announce we are starting a baseball program or building a new bball arena which isnt going to happen anytime soon.

+1 to get you back to even, and I do plan on being there Thursday night, Feb. 3 for what, FAU?

Please come say hello. We miss seeing you guys.

Also, I don't care if I get my rating reset to zero if tomorrow works out in our favor. I wouldn't care if I got BANNED.

How about a donor for naming rights to the stadium? That would be outstanding.

yep that would be a good one too, i kinda jumped the gun by starting this thread under Recruits... but with all the crazyness in the past few days with recruits committing , i assumed that it would be related to recruiting.

One of two things....

Governor Rick Perry signs into decree that UNT should be the rightful claimant of the largest university in Texas and as recognition of how hoss we are has decided that UT should be in the WAC and promote UNT to the Big XII. Also included will be access to UT's endowment and athletic budget.

or..........

CUSA will have that opening due to Houston bouncing as travel partner to the Big East.

(personally I am pulling for the first of the two options)

I'm now thinking it does have something to do with conference membership, because of this wording: "but if the stars align just right for UNT". To me, that is indicating multiple variables, such as the "musical chairs" nature of conference realignment. In other words, something like one school changes conference affiliation, leaving an opening which we could fill.

You guys are reading in to this too much...this is what he is trying to say:

"Tomorrow could be a very good day in UNT land." Key word is LAND. You don't use the word land for no reason. UNT is not a mystical place like Candy Land. He means it literally.

"What might go down isn't official yet.." Key phrase is GO DOWN. What goes down (don't think dirty thoughts)? Deals go down.

"...but if the stars align just right for UNT..." Key word is STARS. Not the ones in space, but the Dallas Stars.

Conclusion = check Vito's blog tomorrow.
