Won convincingly on New Years Day at home. Now for the return trip. ULL has struggled this season, but no road game is a gimmie. We need this game obviously to try and creep closer to Denver (who in a great piece of luck for them, has Thursday off - giving them a week to prepare for us).

Funny how Denver and WKY always have a stroke of luck before playing us, or we always have to travel to play them. I think WKY has been sliding a few or many big bills Mr. Wright's way every year around SBC scheduling time. The way JJ has been recruiting the bill slide trick it's going to help WKY!!! :sword:

Or maybe Denver having the week off could cause them to be a little rusty when they play us next Saturday. It could help or hurt them.

That is true, though I would suspect most teams do very well when they have Thursday off, but play Saturday.

This is a deep, athletic team with a lot of inter-changeable parts. What they lack in a true point guard, they make up for in lightning quick guards and facilitating forwards...what they lack in a true post presence they make up for with athleticism and toughness.

I said after watching their second game with NMST, ULL would finish second in the West. As we all know, I'm an idiot...but in this case I can't for the life of me figure out why the Cajuns haven't been better.

Hopefully they don't figure it out for a few more games.

Well, if you see one Mean Green fan at the CajunDome tonight, that would be me. Decided to make the 2 hour trip to Lafayette with one strategic stop at the LauBerge Du Lac Casino in Lake Charles before heading to Cajun land.

CMJ, P1, and UNTBill, hold down the chat room while I'm away.

I think we are figuring it out; but this team is not as deep or talented as last year's squad. It appears they are finally beginning to buy into the new coach's process; but we are thin at a lot of positions. You guys "should" win this fairly easily; but like someone said, it's a road game, and anything could happen. Hope you guys represent the Belt again in the tournament. I know Denver has been playing really good in conference; but you guys are a more talented team with tournament experience.

Our only losses are on the road and some have been real head scratchers. Denver's conference record is more of a result of advantageous scheduling than it is an indication of their talent level, imo. We get them twice in the next 3 weeks, so I'll guess we'll find out.

I appreciate NT having the away feed for a change but the ULL announcer is insufferable. Not to mention having two replays of every ULL goal. Makes you thankful for NT broadcast group and the fact that they don't do the replay on every NT bucket anymore.

Back to the game, team just not in sync yet. Another case of a fired up team versus NT so far just hanging in there. Hope they play much better the second half, a lost to ULL would be hard to take.

How are we playing tonite? Not looking good right now based on the stat sheet. I don't think we're shooting 50%.
