we can't get no respect. ull,a.state, kent state, and ball state make the top 20 coaching hires, but no unt.

So? It's the Bleacher Report -- which carries far less weight than established media outlets like SI, ESPN, CBS-Sports.

Not sure it is connected, but one of their article "Grading all the Coaching Hires" left NT and McCarney completely out. I would guess the article you are referring to did the same; you would have to be football slow to rank ASU or ULL coaches higher. Although many on the Belt board would agree that McCarney was the worst hire in the Belt. I don't know if it is jealousy or they really think hiring a coach with a losing record at ISU is worst than hiring a coach with no fb head coach experience. Many particularly ASU and ULL fans that they got a hot new rising star for a coach and NT overpaid for a downward spiralling "has been". As someone that has seen more than enough rising stars at UNT, I think McCarney will prove far superior; but there are a lot of games to be played before the truth will be revealed.

McCarney has a losing record as a head coach. A State and ULL new head coaches have no record as a head coach. Some view no record as having more possibilities than a losing record. No link to the article, but I wouild be interested to see where Texas St. was ranked (if at all, since they are still FCS).

I don't care what anyone else thinks. No one knows what will happen in the next 4 years. Coach McCarney may end up in the UNT hall of fame, or he could end up fired after year 3. Only time will tell. While it's fun to play the guessing game, I seem to remember quite a few TCU alum that were very upset over the Patterson hire (to low profile). I think they are happy now. Just goes to show all these "best hire" lists are crap.

I have trouble calling the Bleacher Report a media outlet. More like a blog with no actual credibility.
