Yeah, but look who his D line coach was back then. Now that he will have........Oh wait! Crap!

Never mind.

Rick

I wasn't too happy about the position changes that were made, including switching Cantly to DE, then back to DT (which is where I, and I think most of us here, and those who knew him at Lamar, want him to play). Still, Nelson coached some guys at Iowa State who did quite well, including some who played in the NFL. Maybe there was something about the mix of coaches then that just didn't work. I honestly think Coaches Mac, Bowen, and Nelson will put the best two deep possible on the defensive line.

Just give you folks in Denton a heads up. Watched Micha play in the Oklahoma All State Game tonight..he was listed at 6'5 300lbs....The game is the best of the best across all classes in Oklahoma High School Football.

He played very well...had 1 tackle for loss after sniffing out and blowing up a screen pass and blocked a FG attempt...that eventually ended up being the game winner as his West team won 21-19

Hey great news. I'm interested, any idea where is he sizewise right now? The reason i ask is even though he is a true freshman we may need his services soon! We can't wait to see him play in the new stadium! Welcome to the site and appreciate the update!

Shook his hand on field after the game...he is every bit of 6'5" and I would say at least 290. He looks trimmer than he did in high school. At one point a RB brook free in the open field and Micha gave chase. Micha was actually closing on him over 15 yds, before a safety brought him down. Those I was with talked about that with some coaches in the stands and the speed he showed was impressive to us all, and was not speed I have seen out of him in the past. Seems he dropped some weight, put on a little muscle and gained a few more steps. But he still has a very long way to go. Contributing right away in D1 ball may be a stretch for him, but he has the work ethic to try.

His most useful feature just may be his arms. I'm not sure his actual wingspan but he has some very very long arms

I must say that the prospects of Micah Thompson, Terrell Brooks, and Sir Calvin Wallace at DT in the future are very exciting. Micah excites me as being a country strong, physically gifted kid from a small town who, with the abundant resources and coaching he will receive, could turn into a really special player.

Not to mention the frames of Micah and Terrell are physically imposing.
