I have been working with Auburn High School for 2 years. The kids there are good kids. Coach Carter runs a really good program. Jamichael has been one of my favorite kids to work with at Auburn. He is quiet, but listens well. If he were 6'3", he would be one of the most recruitied kids anywhere. UNT would do great if they can get him in the fold. The kid is a BEAST!!!

Why has Auburn not offered a scholarship to a 4 star DT

from their own back yard? No SEC schools, except Auburn,

is a SEC school of interest list

SunBelt schools:

DeMarcus Ware is from Auburn, so why is Troy not recruiting

Payne too? Troy is not listed on Payne's schools of interest.

Ark St and WKU have scholarship offers to Payne.

Middle Tennessee has not offered Payne.

I would think a 4 star DT would be drawing alot of

interest from the SEC or the ACC schools.

Maybe Payne just wants to get away from Auburn,

just like the top local Denton HS players want to

get away from Denton.

If he has an offer from WKU wouldn't he be a recruit Bowen is familiar with? I would think he would go after the young men he was recruiting for WKU. Somebody send this information to Coach Conley.

I love reading articles on Scout, Rivals and other sites (heck, I have written articles on Scout)...but those ratings are school / name driven. It can provide good information sometimes, but it is a fan driven site. Why is Auburn not recruiting him? They have a slew of returning players at the 1 TECH and 3 TECH spots on the DL. It is also assumed that Auburn has its top DT target locked up silently. Troy? Troy is not a heavy recruiting presence here in Alabama. I wish they were more into the flow here. For me...it isn't about you has...or has not offered. It is about what you see on film. What type of production a player has had. And what level he has competed at for that film and production. Schools tend to fall asleep on kids that are closest to them. It is human nature. My eyes...the results of his play...all signs lead me to say this kid is going to make a fine college player. He will have to hold up his end of the deal. He will have to work hard and do his business in class...and the rest will be gravy. He is the best DT prospect in Alabama this year. It is Payne and Alan Carson. I got to watch full game film on both...I will place my money on Payne.

By the way...you guys are quickly becoming my favorite forum for convo. It is nice to see people that enjoy this as I do.

We really appreciate your insight.

I'd love to see us go after this guy as we are in desperate need of DT help.
