I think I would want to put all of these guys in (maybe with the exceptions of Haley and Dent). But, if I only had 1 vote, it would have to go to the #4 all-time rusher.

Other than the fact that he played a chunk of his career with the Cowboys, I'm a little surprised to see Charles Haley in the lead. Richard Dent is #6 all-time in career sacks, and I would consider him borderline. I would put Dent in ahead of Haley, not to mention Marshall Faulk or Tim Brown, who was the #2 all-time in receiving yards until Isaac Bruce and T.O. recently passed him up (now #4).

Charles Hailey has 5 super bowl rings. Anybody that makes teams that much better deserves to be in the HOF.

That's a stretch to say he made them that much better. He contributed, no doubt, but both the 49er and Cowboy teams he won the SB with were so dominant I expect they would have won with or without him. As far as his last SB ring, I'd have to say Neil O'Donnell made the team that much better.

Pressure on the passer just about every time the opposing QB dropped back? Yes, he MADE them that much better. Should have been a first ballot hall of famer.

Don't believe me? Go back and watch some of the Cowboys Superbowl years teams' games in the 90s. Charles was the final piece, a piece that transformed them from an 11-5 2nd round exit playoff team to Superbowl Champions.

If you want to talk about pressure on the passer, then Dent goes in ahead of Haley.

I'm not trying to bash on Haley at all--he was a great player, and deserves legitimate HOF consideration. But he is definitely behind some others on this list.

In order...and from an un-biased perspective as I have no NFL allegiance:

Roaf

Sanders

Dawson

Faulk

Brown

Dent

Martin

Haley

Carter

Bettis

Sharpe

Sharpe might have been the best TE in the history of sports... but a jackwagon that I wouldn't mind never making it.

The one that is most overlooked is Ray Guy (Oakland punter in 70's.... it is because of his position) No one else at that position is even close to him. Bum Phillips once stole his football after a punt and had it tested for helium....hahaha .. there wasn't any..

Until a couple of years ago I would have said that Bob Hayes was the most over-looked..... his speed changed the way the game is played. He fianlly made it (after he died).

From the list::: Faulk or Bettis, 3rd Carter.

Already in the HOF...not sure that is a valid response to the question at hand...

You are right... I was thinking he was up this year... missed the speeches last year.
