I write for a newspaper that is comparable to the DRC and I promise you that advertising has NOTHING to do with what we write.

;Great, I hope you have the same view after a long and successful newspaper career, if that is what you want. Based on what I've seen, journalism is not that pure, people I,ve known in the business lament it is a constant struggle to balance economics and journalistic integrity and there are plenty of compromises. I don't think any would censor a significant story, but they do recognize that it may be more important to remain publishing than confronting key constituencies over relatively minor issues. Luckily, controversies also sell papers; so there is a build in balance. By the way I don't think the DRC is influenced at all in their NT stadium reporting, if anything they would side with the university if financially motivated. I just think your view that reporting at some level is not tied into generating profits although commendable is naive.

why not one day a week in denton paper then other days in other papers. lewisville, arlington, plano, ft. worth, garland, etc?

you eat an elephant a bite at a time. dr. rawlings told me that the athletic dept. has $500,000 budgeted to advertise and promate the new stadium this year, especially prior to houston home opener.
