eulesseagle...you're a very BAD Man!!! I assume your a man. If not, you're a very BAD Lady!!!

Darn straight!!! I want her back, or a coach that could do better than Tina's replacement. You've been around a long time so you'll remember most on the board couldn't stand Tina S. at the end of her tenure at UNT. Those posters sure do have egg on their faces now!!! :notfair:

Did those posters hire coach Stephens? :ass:

Wow....just because I'd like someone other than Shanice Stephens coaching our team....doesn't mean that I want Tina Slinker back.

So no I don't miss Slinker. I actually have the ability to think that we can do better than Stephens or Slinker. :)

This is the same thing some posters were saying in regards to Todd Dodge-Darrel Dickey. It was weak/pointless argument that assumed because one was doing poor the only option would be to still want the other.

No. Mediocrity isn't that great either.

I really wouldn't qualify what Slinker "accomplished" here as even being mediocre. But her replacement is just worse. Very Dickey/Dodge-esque. I am with SUMG--neither was/is a good fit here.

"You would have to look hard to find a basketball coach at any level that has accomplished as much as Tina Slinker has."

Shocking first sentence of her bio.

Didn't Slinker have some great teams in the late '90s and early 2000s, or was that a different coach?

I seem to recall some all-belters/UNT HOFers leading us to the conference tourney title game in 2001? They were actually fun to watch and coach Slinker seemed gracious towards the band when she had the opportunity to say something.

Slinker did have a good stretch from about 1998-2002. Along with soccer it was basically the only winning program we had while i was in school. Probably one of the reasons I was one of the last to give up on her.

Thank you. Her UNT career fizzled much like Dickey's, but her temperment never was anything like his. I know people will type whatever they want, ...just wanted newer members to know she wasn't a black eye of shame or the like.

Really? How about 25 miles over in Arlington? Ever heard of Donna Capps?
