On Wednesday, the US Treasury introduced a new 100 dollar bill, which is slated to go into circulation early in 2011. The new 100 dollar bill includes a "3D Security Ribbon" and a color-changing inkwell.

Has their been a sufficient amount of research on wrinkling, folding and how it will be appreciated? If so, who paid for that research?

Whatever research they did do, I don't trust it. Just one more way that the government is trying to control our lives. I should have the freedom to use whatever $100 dollar bill that I want to pay for my collection of cute kitten calendars.

Sorry, but that $100 dollar bill belongs to the federal government. They printed it and they want it back. They'll spend it on what they think that you should have.

I hate the government.

And the government hates you, and me, and all of us unless you are one of their big pocketbook donors.

Then again, judging by our taxes, we are all big pocketbook donors. :growl:

The "new note", the $100 bill brought out in 1996, was counterfeited by a guy doing that work in Denton, Texas, and documented in the book "The Art of Making Money". It's quite an interesting read, whatever one may think of the various criminal enterprises described. Strange to read about several undergraduates at TWU getting involved with the protagonist, "Art" Williams. It may come out as a movie this year. By the way, it kind of makes one want to spend a little time finding nice spots at Lake Ray Roberts, which Mr. Williams describes as, in so many words, "his own little paradise". I guess having your own little harem along for the outing could contribute to that. Here's a link to the DMN review:
