And, some people say that Denton area kids never get a look from UNT. Glad to see this and hope it continues. There are plenty of local area kids who, at a minimum, deserve a look by UNT. They can decide to sign with UNT or some other school as that is always the situation, but good to see the interest and contact from UNT.

not to poop on anybodys parade, but i really doubt this kid will sign with UNT. I would be thrilled and absolutley shocked if he did, so no reason to get all up in arms on me... Im not sure if its UNT, or DISD athletes that are the problem, but like ive posted before, not since my highschool days when we signed (i belive a 2*) Raifa Durodoye, has a DISD athlete signed a LOI with UNT... i would love to see area kids play for their hometown but for whatever reasons they sign with our direct competition and rivals... ala La Tech, Houston, Tulsa, ULM, ULL, SMU, TCU, etc..... Hopefully though this will be the first recruit UNT can keep home... The new stadium has got to be the biggest drawing point now... ill keep an eye on this recruiting class, and if we sign someone from Denton i will eat my words and never speak of the subject for the next 10 yrs.

136 receiptions 2,860 yds 30 Td

WR Kevin Robertson 3*, HS Northland Christian HS Houston 6-4, 208, 4.56, between Nt and Wyoming..a stud NT visit

Lots of Austin area kids don't sign with Texas, so what? I think a local kid signing up at the local university is not always in the best interest of either party.

We need to get the best players we can. If they happen to be from Denton, that is great. If they are from somewhere else, that is just as good. After all, we are a state university not a city one.

Or, if they are from Denton instead of from somewhere else, that is just as good. I don't advocate recruiting Denton over any other city with successful football programs, but neither do I want to write off the possibility due to the standard reasons we've been using why that won't work. There are a lot of reasons that can go into a young man's decision as to where to play football, and it never hurts to make an offer to someone who can help your program.
