One of the best games I've seen all year! SBC 2, MAC 0

That was a great game and comeback by FIU. Now let's make it 3 and 0 against the MAC, as the MUTS are up next vs. Miami-OH.

Would love to see MUTS defeat Miami of Ohio, but that may be stretching it. Either way, the Belt has a Winning Record in Bowl Games this year...which is more than just one Bowl Game! Congrats to Coach Cristobal and FIU last night as well! Way to come back and kick some SpRocket arse! Enjoy the WAC, UTSA and SWT! lol

I was cheering for FIU as if they were us, just like I did with Troy and will do with MTSU. Our conference needs more respect.

+1 for your sentiment. I'm not sure beating MAC teams will get our conference more respect, but it can't hurt.

That was one of the best bowl games so far this year. Anyone who watched that game can't believe there are too many bowl games as that best bowl game of the year game would never have happened!

Rape jokes are awesome.

I enjoy the comments on blogs from FIU fans saying that it is not fair to bring up these allegations so close to their bowl victory. How dare these young ladies taint this fine moment?

Next thing you know, Wittels' dad will say that the girls are gold diggers out to get fine, upstanding young men who will never play beyond AAA baseball at best.

Rape jokes are awesome.

It wasn't so much a 'joke' as it was sarcasm. I figured it goes without saying I -and any other human with even a shred of a heart or so much as a moral fiber in their being- would find rape, or any acts related thereto, deplorable. If it offended you, I'm sorry.

Let's remember that he is innocent until proven guilty. I know absolutely nothing about the case, but I also know there are people out there that will do anything to make a buck and athletes out there that think they are above the law.

I agree with innocent until proven guilty and that there are people who will try to accuse people of things that they did not do. The father just needs to let the law enforcement do their investigation then make comments about it.

Hopefully there was no rape committed by Wittels or his two friends though!

      Mike Mitchell Jr. was out. He's a starter and Minnesota could've really used his shooting. Not as familiar with the other players but they're reserves. This game was a big data point for the Massie over Newell position!

      Awesome win! The only bad part was the commentary from the TV announcers. They confused Newell and Lorient for an extended period of time, stated that Atin Wright originally played at Washington State, and clearly barely knew anything about our program. The play by play announcer gave major 'and boom goes the dynamite' vibes. Some thoughts on the game: - The defense was stellar as we've all come to expect. Delo and Massie were great playing multiple matchups. - Minnesota came out and blitzed our PnRs. We really struggled with the pressure. Eventually we started slipping screens and setting brush screens to counteract it. - Trey Edmonds in the second half forced us to play big. He has a grown man body. Hodge settled on a Lorient/Sissoko combination to match Garcia/Edmonds. - An extended run with a Floyd/Walker/Massie/Lorient/Sissoko lineup including to close the game aside from situational subs. Before the season I would've been shocked that this lineup would close a win on the road against a Big Ten school because of the offense. The spacing was predictably an adventure. Massie wasn't efficient but he kind of made the lineup 'work'. He shows handling, passing, and court awareness in the half court. Feels like he could turn into a secondary ball handler in lineups. - Atin Wright had a meh game by his standards, but still really excited about him this season. He's a bit of a showman and I love it. After getting fouled in transition, he slapped the ball away from the defender and stared at him. On Lorient's massive jam at the end of the game, you can see him standing over Edmonds (who was on the ground). GMG
