if i'm jj, i am frustrated and disapointed that no matter how good we are, attendance averages only 3,000. if we loose him, this will be a primary reason. lack of fan support.

We've slowly been increasing attendance under JJ though. Yes, the team isn't getting the support it deserves but it has been slowly increasing.

Had been until last year, when we took a step back.

We didn't have anyone interesting on last year's schedule though. When you have a team like Tech or OSU, it really helps with that spike.

I bet if you segregated OOC attendance from conference attendance, you might see where we had more people attending conference games than OOC games.

A recent win against LSU should increase conference attendance, but the AD better promote the heck out of that win and our overall record, and mid major poll position. If marketed correctly to students and Denton throughout the city attendance should improve. How much will depend on focused marketing. Hopefully AD's new operations manager can help with this and has experience doing this. If so, we're good...if not, more of the same attendance wise.

I'm frustrated and disappointed over the misuse of "loose."

I hope NT is in jeopardy of losing all their coaches because that means they have done something positive here. Yes JJ deserves more but the facts are he and the team has done their part, but as a whole the NT bb program does not come remotely close to breaking even. With the type and quality of the program, JJ has developed; the attendance and support at NT is pitiful. Most schools in Texas are in the same situation, and the support for NT has and is improving but it has far to go. Now that NT is in conference play hopefully NT can average at least 4,000 for the rest of the home games and take at least double the crowd they had last year for the conference tournament.

UNT hired Jeff Luster-Director of Basketball Operation away from TCU recently. I don't know the specific ties Johnny Jones had with Mr. Luster prior to hiring, but seems to be good hire.

I would think BB Marketing on campus, within Denton, and to merchandisers would come under his purview although I could be mistaken. Mr. Luster is listed under coaches page on UNT Athletics Basketball website.

In the Barbershop Podcast where JJ was the guest, he answers a question about Luster and the value his hiring brings to the whole organization.

I always knew this day would come... Lifer, just put the knife down. Wardly surely knows the difference between "lose" & "loose". He just misremembered how to spell it.

Go through and reread many of his posts where he uses loose instead of lose. His "misremembering" how to spell the word is habitual ... kinda like breathing.
