Grant brings 16 years of coaching experience to WMU after spending the 2007 season at Southern Miss and the previous nine years at Iowa State (1998-2006).

He lettered 3 years as QB at Nebraska.

Great Hire! I keep getting this feeling that we are hiring the coaching all-stars or something. It may just be the fact that we had almost all high school coaches last time, but this time it seems like some of the guys are actually OVER QUALIFIED for their positions. This is awesome! Plus it is a good feeling to be able to go in and hire people away from other schools.

"He coached first-team All-Big 12 running back Ennis Haywood, who became the seventh ISU back to post two 1,000-yard rushing seasons and his running backs went two years without a fumble"

Haywood was a good running back at Dallas Carter but a great back at Iowa State. Lead the Big 12 in rushing. Played briefly with the Cowboys before his untimely death in 2003.
