Sooner Freshman guard T.J. Taylor has left the team due to personal reasons

http://www.examiner.com/oklahoma-sooners-basketball-in-oklahoma-city/sooner-freshman-guard-t-j-taylor-has-left-the-team-due-to-personal-reasons

This kid was a stud at Denison, but he had way too many idiots in his ear telling him he was the man coming out of high school. Thats the route of all his problems. But maybe taking the rest of the year off from OU will help. And talking to the right people that will teach him some respect and get his head on straight. Denison is only an hour NE of Denton so he would be close to his mama. Would love to see him live up to potential, especially as a MG!

Capel wanted him to play the 1 and Taylor didn't want to because he says he's a 2. Didn't want to be the guy running the show.

More to it than that, trust me.

Shawn Williams has to be making a decision within the next few days. I'm not really expecting him to choose us at this point, but we were one of the 3 or 4 schools he was considering at last update.

I don't know if anything happended off the campus or court , but that's just what I was told by a someone close to him ( that he didn't want to play the 1) . I'm surprised he even qualified @ OU , I think he didn't even get cleared until the week before classes started. Hopefully he lands in Denton.

A Norris-1 , Taylor-2,Williams-3,Robinson-4 lineup doesn't sound too bad

I am assuming he would have to sit out a season because of the transfer rules no? Seems like a good transfer target to me! Someone email Johnny!

TJ was injured pre season with a concussion. He had lingering effects due to the concusion. He has no problem playing the 1 and was actually recruited to OU to play the 1 and accepted it willingly.

He was the man coming out of Dennison, so that statement seems a bit off. The kid can flat out play the game and has a college body already!

He is enrolling into Paris JC in January

If he's at Paris JC I'd hope Johnny is lighting up the phone to Paris. Wonder if TJ was here earlier in the year scrimmaging against UNT?

If TJ is as good as everyone say's he is, bring him on.

Go Johnny Go!!!!

He didn't scrimmage. He was hurt before their first organized practice

Sounds like a player, but does NT at this point want or need another point guard? With A. Williams, C. Jones, B Walton, and T Norris all capable of playing the point, and next years team returning little except Hogans in the front court, I hope NT uses at least 2 of their last 3 ships on posts. If Knox suddenly becomes a factor, it may be different but with the only big recruit Robinson NT needs some big bodies. By the way although Robinson should not be the project that Knox, Barnett and Howerton were, I think he will be a couple of years from starting. Going from class 2a ball to college will be a major adjustment and although he apparently liked to shoot from outside, that is not what NT needs a 6'10 player for. Maybe Taylor is good enough to warrant a ship at the Wing as they do another off guard IMO.

Yes , I know he was recruited by Capel to play the point , but this past weekend that is exactly what he said ( he didn't want to play the point @ OU).I kinda trust this source since he told me on Monday morning that TJ was leaving. Maybe he is just using this as an excuse , who knows. Capel has run off several players for whatever reason.

Also it seems that he has grown a few inches , seems to be closer to about 6'5 right now.

I'm sure that Johnny knows all about him and is still interested, I was told that JJ attended many Denison games

I went and picked TJ up from OU and I am working him out over the break, you can trust me too.

Well he never had the grades at OU either. Was failing just about every class. Maybe he can get it figured out at Paris.

The way you are stating "facts" is incorrect. TJ had medical problems causing him to miss class. If you look at his transcript, you will see that he was medically cleared from those classes you say he was "failing."

Have to remember he is still a kid. Lets get all the facts before posting negative things.
