What was the contract? Do we know for how much? At least he didn't go the Skankeez.

True. He tried to downplay it, but Mrs. Lee wasn't so quick to forgive and forget.

That tends to be the case...a woman wronged never seems to forget it!

Not that we know of. I think he probably had his agent talking to Philly behind the scenes.

Weren't the Rangers about to schedule a press conference on Saturday to announce the signing?

There wasn't any planned announcement for the signing. All indications were that Philly came in last minute...Had Philly been in this thing from the beginning it would have come out through "sources". And if his agent was talking to Philly behind the scenes then he is a damn good agent and he was doing his job. But I don't think it was anything more than minor discussions IF that. Nobody was played and led on.....They just went to Cliff Lee after the negotiations had reached its limit and made a comparable offer. He took 5 years in Philly...it's obvious his heart was there. Even after his trade from Philly to Seattle...read his quotes and his plan was to finish out his career there. He wanted to be in Philly....that simple. The trade was still worth it in my opinion because he was the man that led Texas to the world series and got that horse off the organizations backs.
