There are three keys to winning women's basketball games:

1. Defense: We don't even need 94 feet of heat...seriously...47 feet of heat...wait, nevermind, 23.5 feet of heat will do. Let's work our way up to 94.

2. Free Throws: The great equalizer between the Mens game and the Womens game. A FT is a FT. When our player (I think Torru) went to the line tonight to shoot two, with UNT down two points, with .2 seconds left, the UTPA announcers said she was a 20% FT shooter on the year. I don't know if that is true or not, but that is what they said. Godbolt also missed two when she had a chance to tie the game (one airball).

3. Layups: Well, only a chosen few can dunk, so the war in the paint is won and lost with layups. We missed a bunch of layups just in the last 10 minutes. Most of them turned into momentum changers that allowed UTPA to get back to a two possession lead.

I don't usually get too excited about WBB, but it is an off night for the Men, and it is a UNT sport, so I care by default. Very frustrating game...especially losing to a school like UTPA. We play Nichols State on Monday. We are undefeated against Southland teams at home this season so I fully expect a win. If not...well...Go Mean Green! :)
