Stupid. The AD is the same one who ran Solich out of Nebraska and replaced him with Bill Callahan. During a rebuilding year this season, Wannstedt got Pitt a share of the Big East title.

Amazing for our perspective at NT. Our AD would have given him an extention on his contract. Big conferences, Big money, Big pressure to win lots of games to get to bigger bowl payouts, Big money donors wanting bigger results on the field.

I would predict that IF Coach Wannstedt wants to coach next season there will be plenty of opportunities.

Most of those "stupid" decisions are deemed so after the fact and after results are in. They are also deemed "stupid" by people who don't agree with them. That being said, as an outsider, I cannot imagine why Pitt let Wannstedt go. There will be no lack of schools and probably some pro teams offering him any number of various opportunities. I think Wannatedt did wonders for the Pitt program, but what do I know anyway. Just an outsider looking in.

Not only did this idiot fire Solich and hire Bill Callahan at Nebraska, he then moved the needle even further closer to full retard by signing Bill Callahan to an extension after winning the first game of the year in 2007. When Nebraska sank in conference play in 2007, both the AD and Callahan got fired, which cost the Huskers millions more because they had just signed him to a big extension a few months earlier!!
