Dumb. They've one team from the A-10...and yeah, no way an ACC team is going to be a 15 seed.

In an odd segue...but to something more pertinent than December Bracketology...if anyone wants to check out a HELL of a basketball game Saturday, Richmond (A-10) hosts Virginia Commonwealth (Colonial). I say watch, not sure its online anywhere...just saw that match-up so I figured I'd make interested parties aware.

By tournament time we'll do better than 15 seed, provided we stay healthy. Hopefully our bench will produce better later in the season. Our starters could use the rest!!!

I don't know. They way the SBC as a league has been peforming to this point, I wouldn't be confident of the SBC rep getting higher than at 15.

No we won't, unless we lose only 2 more games the rest of the way. The SBC was way better in the years we won the auto berth and we got a 15 seed. That will be about right again, should we win the conference tournament again. If we win the tournament with a record of something like 23-7 or worse, we could get a 16 seed with the new additions in the field of 68. Our best win in OOC will be Tech and I don't see them making the NCAAs as an at-large from the Big12 this year. I just can't see the SBC champ being anything higher than the 10th best conference, so that probably equals a 15 seed.

The 10th best would be way better than a 15 seed. The SBC is going to be nowhere close to that high. Maybe you meant the 10th worst conference.

Amazingly, the league RPI has jumped quite a bit the last 4-5 days.

A. What CMJ said.

B. In 2007 we were the 5th seed entering the SBC tourney...our win was an upset. Had the favorite that year (I'm assuming it was WKU...though can't be certain) won, they probably would've been a 12 or 13. Last year, the conference sucked, our OOC schedule sucked and losses to Boise and FIU really sucked...thus the 15.

C. If we just 3 games, I've my money on nothing below a 13...expanded tourney or not.

IF we can finish with a 3-5 loss record, and IF one other team (FAU? WKU? UALR?) maintains their OOC clip and finishes with 6-7 losses on the season... It's not even out of the question that we could fight our way up to 2 bids.

Seriously. I've got spreadsheets and everything.

The Tulsa, USF, and Mississippi State wins last week were HUGE. We need the rest of the league to start getting cheap wins as they transition out of money games and into win stuffers (SWACs and Indys). If we can maintain, if another team can keep pace with us, and if the rest of the league can go about 70% against the remaining lousy OOC opponents (this last one is the hard part)... This looks a lot like 2008.

I believe it was USA on paper. They were the 1 seed afterall. Though with the tradition and institutional muscle memory, I always feel like WKU is the favorite.

Yeah, good catch, CMJ. I meant 10th worst. Anyway, I think that we could get a better seed if certain things play out, but I am bracing myself for the reality that the SBC champ will be a 15 seed. FAU has certainly stepped up and WKU has the pedigree, so we will see. I just think that the rest of this league won't do any of the big three any favors at all come NCAA seeding time.

At the moment, we'd seemingly be in line for a 14 seed.
