Medical Insurance

I am married with three girls(two of which have special needs). My wife stays home with the kids, while

I work two jobs. I just saw the prices for a new job I started for health insurance. The prices were $600 up a month for medical insurance. Are any of you aware of decent private insurance polices and prices? I look forward to your response and appreciate any direction you might give.

I have been researching this question for our staff for some time. It seems many of the "known" carriers are not writing new individual policies at this time due to uncertainty with the new so-call health insurance reform bill. In addition, many companies, our little non-profit included, has had to pass along a bigger chunk of the cost to our employees this year as premiums have skyrocketed on our renewal policy. How you liking that new health care bill now folks????? Not trying to get political, but it has been a disaster for many more folks than ever thought. Many bigger forms (can you say AT&T and Lockheed???) are even looking at dropping certain coverages and/or passing along increased costs to their employees. Joy of joys!

That being said...$600/month for family coverage...wife and three kids...two with special needs...seems reasonable to me based on what our employees are paying this year.
