UALR gets a 3 with :01 second to take a 69-63 lead with about a minute left.

They then turn around and commit an intentional foul under the bucket, WHILE TULSA IS HITTING A THREE.

69-67 right now with a little under a minute

69-67 Final

One aside, Tulsa took a shot at the buzzer that was short and their guy caught it and laid it in. The lay in was after the buzzer and they went to review. The announcer, in his brilliance, said twice "one of the referees just went like this". Only problem, hand gestures don't translate too well over the radio.

Thank goodness for UALR this year. At least someone is exceeding expectations.

The next time someone starts talking about how we need to consolidate to just the football schools and boot out UALR when Denver leaves... Remind them how nice it is to have a school where basketball is the main priority and the biggest sport on campus.

ive been sayin add la tech nmsu and drop UALR, but now i think i am probably wrong. If they have a strong basketball program then who cares if they play football? Good win by UALR against a quallity opp in Tulsa.

Check out the box on this game and go to Alex Garcia-Mendoza...a really nice, strong guard who I'd love to have on our bench this season. He somehow managed...as a solid contributor offensively...to play 22 minutes without attempting a shot, pulling in just 1 rebound and dishing out just 1 assist. Very odd.

UALR is definitely doing their best to help the conference RPI...they've a game against a non-D1 team next, then a home game against a decent Ole Miss team, then some pretty winnable games before conference kicks up for them. They've already exceded some expectations...mainly as not being the worst team in the SBC from Arkansas...if they can pull out a winning record in their 5 starting with Ole Miss I think we've gotten as good an OOC start fro UALR as could be expected

We are slipping in Kenpom and Sagarin ratings. The schedule has been really easy. KU top notch but Tech is 5-4 and Rice is 4-4 (although two of losses are to UT and Arizona). We're down to 172 on Kenpom and 127 in Sagarin Ratings. We are 3rd best in Sun Belt per Kenpom and 2nd best in Sagarin. Good news is that we are winning games and that is all that matters.

Sun Belt is bad and West division is weakest of two. We should have that division wrapped up with a week to go in the season.

Wednesday will be a real test. I'd guess we are an underdog. It'd be real nice to get another road win.

I know we're not even a third of the way through this season, but I'm excited to see next year's schedules for the SBC. The first couple years will probably be rough on everyone, but if we're still here in 2013, I'm hoping the conference finally climbing out of the cellar and back to a top 10 ranking.

Tired of looking at Sagarin and RPI and seeing conference mates in the 250+ range.
