Anyone seen or heard of any speculation as far as filling out the staff? Troy Phillips reported that Conroy Hines was in a "holding pattern" and the rest of the offices were open.

I did speak with Canales yesterday, and he seems to be spearheading the recruiting efforts diligently.

I have heard the name Matt McGettigan for strength and conditioning coach from a very reliable source.

Currently serving that role at Air Force, former strength coach of the year, and formerly served that role at Iowa State under Mccarney.

That makes sense Dan. I still cant believe that Sklararky(sp) is out of the mix.

The only names I have heard are Wally Rig and Tony D'Amato.

Matt McGettigan was a good S&C coach for I-State. He'd be a nice hire for Dan if he could get him again.

The guy makes football players. He'd say conditioning is one thing each individual can control (regardless of natural talent). Something like, "a fresh athlete beats a winded "great" athlete every time..." "Be in better football shape not a bodybuilder"...

Just some I-State input about him.

Hard to say the reasons why he turned us down...It may have been salary, he likes Fla, or for retirement system purposes...that was the reason DeLoach wanted to coach another couple years in Texas, to become vested in the Texas Teacher Retirement system.
