Ben Knox scored 4! I know it is not much, but during the last couple minutes of the game, he actually looked somewhat confident, even with his back to the basket. He had a couple good blocks as well.

We don't need him to be a star, but if he can just get to the point where he can give a few quality minutes, that would be huge. I have not given up yet.

Courtland buddy, I was at a very emotional and draining funeral viewing tonight and of course didn't even think to check in on the game afterwards. And just wanted you to know, that at times it may seem to you that while your typing away here by yourself that no one is appreciative of your updates. But after getting home and collecting myself again and getting the kids in bed and getting a bite to eat I can come here and get caught up with your posts. I really appreciate your efforts.

A couple of observations about tonight's very ho hum game. Was disappointing that NT had to put out almost max effort against this team, all 5 starters had over 30 minutes. I was encouraged with Edwards who had an awful line, 9 minutes 2 points, 2 rebounds and five fouls. Despite an awful performance, he seems to move much better. Thompson was again spectacular but NT was out rebounded and seemed to generally sleep walk through this game. The rest of the six were ok but not particularly noteworthy. Holmen had only 6 minutes and only 2 missed shoots to show up in the statistics. Ben didn't look bad for Ben with four points against the scrubs.

Never felt even though it got within 4 points that NT would lose, but it was another case of playing at the competition level. Texas Southern and Sam Houston on the road are not going to be easy games for this team.

No problem man - even when I do it by myself it's worth it. If for nothing else, it helps me remember how the games went when I do my post season analysis in the summer.

Call me a bad fan , but I think we split the road games.Texas Southern is a very long team and gave our guards fits last year and Sam Houston @ home is very dangerous. We will get both teams best effort and if we play anything like we have on the road so far we could lose both

Both are going to be extremely tough. If we can win these next two, I'll be very confident going forward. I'd be happy with a split to be honest. Hell, even realtimerpi is only projecting us to get a split currently.

For some reason SHSU worries me a lot more than Texas Southern. I don't really have anything to back that up other than my gut, and it seems we do really well against the SWAC schools. I see SHSU playing us with a lot more confidence out of the Southland.

If we do manage to win both, we have a really great opportunity to be 10-1 heading into the LSU game...which would be exciting.

I felt it was pretty well established that you're a bad fan.

Kind of a slow game overall, but I just have to say how much I'm enjoying being able to go to all of the games again. Football is one thing, but going to the SP and that atmosphere is another level for me.

Pit Crew does a great job, and I hope they continue to grow. If they were to bring back a couple of the older traditions and fix the North Texas chant, all the better. Can't imagine being on the other side without them there. Also don't want to forget that the band is much more into it than I ever saw. Great job.

I can't even imagine being one of those students who never set foot in there except to collect their degree. What a waste.

I'm going to say we take both Southern and SHSU.

I actually hit this one pretty well. I said between 10-15, and 11 is there.

As far as game goes, 0 on GSU got heckled something fierce by the PC tonight. Airball became his new nickname, everytime he had the ball he got it from them. UNT seemed to be a little less sharp, however they did a good job exploiting the GSU foul trouble by going off for 71% from the FT line. Good win, then again any win is a good one.

DRC write-up... UNT Continues Torrid Start to Season

The last time North Texas was off to a start better than the one it continued on Thursday night, North Texas head coach Johnny Jones was just coming into his own – in high school.

Bill Blakeley was the head coach at UNT and Jones was a sophomore back in the 1977-78 season, when the Mean Green got off to a 7-1 start.

Best start to a season in 33 years. :clapping:
