Non-Aq Conferences Should Come Together

If the Big Six can get together and create an illegal cartel, why can't the non-AQ leagues do the same?

If I had such influence, I would pull together the commissioners of each non-AQ league and propose the following:

Look, the BCS is going to do everything they can to keep us out of any national championship consideration. So let's stage our own playoff and crown a champion. The conference champions from the Sun Belt, CUSA, WAC, MWC, and MAC will receive automatic playoff spots. We will then extend invitations to the top 3 BCS teams to participate. Naturally, they will initially decline. Then we just go down the list of bowl-eligible BCS teams until we fill those spots. We then hold a 3-week playoff during the time between the end of the regular season and the start of Bowl Season. The playoffs will be over in time for almost all of these teams to still play in any bowl they've been invited to.

Sure, there are flaws - but let's start a discussion about alternatives to groveling at the feet of the BCS.

Yep. If you wanna do that, just reclassify to FCS.

If you really want to get after them, have all of the non-AQ schools get together and agree to a payment schedule that is extremely high and start to force the AQs to play each other or take a huge hit to play us. That would send a message without shooting ourselves in the foot as much. Probably still not going to help us that much.
