OK, so I talking to a UTA AD Staffer who is a UNT grad and used to work for the UNT AD. He tells me that next year's game with UTA will be played at American Airlines Arena as part of a three-game showcase! How cool is that? OK, I can hear the "usual suspects" complain about having to go to Dallas, but it could be a great atmosphere, and maybe on a weekend if there will be a three-game event set up including SMU. Too bad it won't be as a tournament with UTA, SMU and UNT, etc. The UTA staffer told me they have tried to schedule TCU and SMU regularly as well, with about as much luck as we have had....

Could be a great day to be a college basketball fan...and for some of you...you won't even have to cross the lake to get to a game. Imagine that!

I hope this takes place and the place is packed. Of course the Mean Green will once again defeat UTA...as it should be!

GO MEAN GREEN!

You can just say Kevin Fralicks. We all saw him and basked in his radiant warmth.

Also, this is pretty awesome news.

Anyone living north of the George Bush should have no excuse. You just have to drive to Carrollton and hop on the new DART green line which opens Monday. It will drop you off right in front of the AAC.

Nice. Wish we could hold our own early season tourney at the Super Pit. Invite regional teams like OU, TCU, UTA, SFA and LA Tech. Screw smu if they're too scared to come. We don't really need their two dozen fans.

Let's be fair...they have about 45. ;)

We're playing UTA in Miami??

But in all seriousness, this will be a great opportunity to see the Mean Green play in one of the best basketball arenas in the country!

Is that the one that is on Frankford near 35? That is just a few minutes from my house so it would be really convenient for me.

By that time you should be able to take the train all the way from Denton (you'll have to get off the DCTA train and onto the DART train). I think the Denton/Lewisville train is supposed to be complete in June.

But you'll have to walk back. No late service except on Fridays.

Actually late weekend service was just approved in the last couple of weeks.

Right, but Mon-Thu the last train will leave the Carrollton station at 8:30pm. So much for people wanting to see hockey or basketball during the week.

UTA hosting NT at American Airlines Center huh? Well, UTA brought about 20 fans to Denton. They average 600-800 at home on The Stage. I say they bring maybe 80 to the AAC. <_<
