So now do some of the people that were pissed about the hire understand why most Cyclone fans would take a bullet for this guy? Coach Mac is a fantastic leader. He had a monster hole to dig his way out of at Iowa State, and that took some time, but he will absolutely get it done.

I am only 15 minutes into this presser... and holy Sh*t! I am entirely sold on this guy! After the Chico hire he was up big, but hearing him talk about the city, and filling the stadium, about longevity as a coach and building a program, about passion for the school, the city and the community I am more in than I already was. I was in... Now I am PUMPED!

I can't wait for this recruiting season... I can't wait for practice... I can't wait for next season...

This feels like a much more professional program in 15 minutes than it has in almost 10 years.

I'm with everyone... Can we all say "WOW"! Coach Mac was great. And, when he mentioned his Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator I knew the Mean Green Nation would come together. I want you to think about Coach Mac and Coach Chico in a house talking to a recruit and his parents. Seriously, could you think of anyone with more passion, sincereity, and now with the stadium even more to sell.

I know gang, lots of green coolaid, but wow what a GRAND day. Got to speak to Coach Mac and Coach Chico at the reception. I know their was a lot of noise when asking questions, but seriously, it was just because everyone was fired up.

Do we really have to wait for 9 more months?

Recruiting will be very exciting I predict.

Another day I am proud to be greeen!

He's a mobile QB guy. I like that. I'd love to see a Seneca Wallace clone come to UNT!!

I think we have that already in Mr. Dodge. It's going to be great to have Chico back as the Asst. HC & OC for another season. Looks like everyone got their wish! Coach Dodge is gone, a proven BCS caliber coach is here, and Chico stuck around.

Next season we should see at least 14 wins! :D

      Meanwhile we finished higher than Minnesota in NET last year. Actually they haven't finished higher than us since 2020. Was this post on Twitter?

      Mike Mitchell Jr. was out. He's a starter and Minnesota could've really used his shooting. Not as familiar with the other players but they're reserves. This game was a big data point for the Massie over Newell position!

      Awesome win! The only bad part was the commentary from the TV announcers. They confused Newell and Lorient for an extended period of time, stated that Atin Wright originally played at Washington State, and clearly barely knew anything about our program. The play by play announcer gave major 'and boom goes the dynamite' vibes. Some thoughts on the game: - The defense was stellar as we've all come to expect. Delo and Massie were great playing multiple matchups. - Minnesota came out and blitzed our PnRs. We really struggled with the pressure. Eventually we started slipping screens and setting brush screens to counteract it. - Trey Edmonds in the second half forced us to play big. He has a grown man body. Hodge settled on a Lorient/Sissoko combination to match Garcia/Edmonds. - An extended run with a Floyd/Walker/Massie/Lorient/Sissoko lineup including to close the game aside from situational subs. Before the season I would've been shocked that this lineup would close a win on the road against a Big Ten school because of the offense. The spacing was predictably an adventure. Massie wasn't efficient but he kind of made the lineup 'work'. He shows handling, passing, and court awareness in the half court. Feels like he could turn into a secondary ball handler in lineups. - Atin Wright had a meh game by his standards, but still really excited about him this season. He's a bit of a showman and I love it. After getting fouled in transition, he slapped the ball away from the defender and stared at him. On Lorient's massive jam at the end of the game, you can see him standing over Edmonds (who was on the ground). GMG
