I know we are gonna get alot of coachspeak today at the press conference and I understand that. We'll get the usual; "We are gonna bring a winner to Denton", We're gonna hit the recruiting trail hard", "We've got alot of good players to work with here", etc... But what do you want to hear from DMac to ease your mind regarding his hiring.

"I guarantee we're making a BCS bowl run within the next 4 years."

or

"I'm also happy to announce our acceptance of our MWC invitation."

or

"We've started off strong by already receiving a commit from 4 star quarterback _____________."

I don't want to hear too much fluff, but I would like to hear genuine excitement and that he is happy to be here as well as ready to be a HC again.

I would also like to hear his game-plan for the program. What needs immediate attention, what are his philosophies on the game, where does he want the program to be in two years, etc.

Basically, I want to hear that he really wants this job and has already thought about how he's going to get started.

What MeanGreenGlory said, punctuated with "I didn't come here to lose!".

I want to hear him say, "I have been hired here at North Texas to secure a spot in the Big 12 north and to pursue the National Championship"

I want to hear him be genuinely excited about UNT and our football program. I will be happy if I come away from this conference having a feeling that he is where he wants to be and convinced he has a passion for the university. If he can provide that I will be happy

I would like to hear his recruiting philosophy and if he has already contacted pledged recruits. And ,of course,if he is going to retain any of the present staff.

Hopefully Coach Mac will say something like this:

"We will be setting higher goals not seen around here since a former boss of mine worked here. In fact, you see what has been happening at Boise and Fort Worth of late? " :)

Welcome to Mean Green Country, Coach McCarney!

GMG!

I want to hear him say he and his family (if any) are anxious to move to DENTON and that we'll (meaning everybody) will see them shopping, at theaters, and going to Church. In other words, being a real part of the community.

And I'd like to hear him say it while wearing a green shirt.

"I'm going to go out and recruit the biggest, fastest defensive players I can find.

And I'm going to tell them that if Johnny Jones tries to leave the Denton city limits, they need to tackle him and drag him back to his office."
