Before anyone freaks out more than this bad news deserves... Alzee did not play at all outside of the exhibition game. He will be able to redshirt (since he played last year as a true freshman) and will return next year as a RS Sophomore.

EDIT to clarify: A traditional redshirt, not a medical redshirt that would need NCAA approval. Just like what we did with an injured Kedrick Hogans last year.

Understood that this appeared to be inevitable...but still hurts nonetheless. We will most likely feel this the most as we get deeper into the season and depth becomes more important...

One positive is that he gets three years to play with the incoming class.

Thats very true and good point!... hell with the class we got coming in, it could be a blessing to have Alzee as a (RS) Senior when our young guns are having break out Junior seasons.... that season should be nice with Norris at PG and Jordan Williams probably dominating at the 4.

Jordan is not going to play as a 4, he'll be a TT style 3.

This is the lone bright spot here... Losing Alzee definitely hurts. I was anticipating him to start racking up minutes this year. He was going to be a strong bench guy. Now, we're REALLY light at guard depth on the bench. We're playing through it right now, but I'm really worried this may come back to bite us after the guys play 30+ games and have to go to the SBC tourney exhausted (at least we'll have a 1st round bye though).
