link? Can't believe we gained 10 spots this week after our last 2 narrow victories over lesser opponents - but I'll take it! Note: UTA receiving votes.

So what is the term for conferences like the MWC, CUSA and WAC? Are they high majors?

MWC, yes. Otherwise, they just choose not to participate or be included.

why are we lumped with those small schools?

I never noticed before that the Sun Belt is the only conference whose football teams play at the 1-A ("FBS") level.

Up to #10 for this week's poll (Dec. 6th)

College Insider Mid-Major Poll

Good company ahead of us. Going to be real hard to move up any from here.

Disagree with this...if we win against first SHSU (also getting points) and a possible upset of LSU...I can see our name right up there in the top 5. The current lead of Cleveland St is ridiculous since outside of Robert Morris I cannot see any victories deserving of high praise.

Maybe I shouldn't have included real, but it is going to be hard. Our margin of error is a lot smaller than the teams ahead of us. Obviously if we keep winning, that is a plus. But, I don't think we're going to jump any of those teams if they continue to win also. And I wouldn't be so sure a loss will knock them down much.

Reputation counts in this poll, and those 9 have it. A loss for them is not the same as a loss for us. Fair or not, that's the way it is.

I wouldn't call LSU an upset. At worst a toss up since we are going to their house. I truly believe that if we play our game we come out of there with the win.

I worry less about LSU than if we had to go across town and play Southern. We seem to play up or down to the competition.
