I was wondering the same thing. I'm no accountant, but doesn't $500K equal "half a million" and "slightly past half a million" should be quantified somewhere in the neighborhood of $50,000 - that's not much of an incentive.

That would make sense, but I don't think that's what he meant:

Base + incentives = total compensation. I think?

I've been hearing that this is a 6 year deal. Can someone verify this? if it is 6 years, I am not too happy. That is a little bit too much of a guarantee to a coach for my taste.

Much clearer. Maybe he can be a business reporter if this whole sports thing doesn't work out. You can't have too many fall back positions - written by the guy with 168 half hour TV shows for PBS under his belt!

FIve is pretty much the minimum standard. If you aren't will to give someone five, then they aren't your guy. And we fired our last two during their contracts so any agent is going to demand more than the minimum.
