I hear we will have orange helmets next year with Mean Green written in cursive

Realizing it is the off season already.

But at least it should be an interesting one full of hope and new starts.

Say no to the darker green on the field. I like dark green as our academic color, but keep the brighter kelly green for our sports teams, it's MEANER

Normally I hate uniform changes at UNT, since we've done so many of them, but we need to get rid of the Southlake Carroll-looking design and go back to having lots of green in the Mean Green.

Edit: And with this turn of the thread, we come across some very sad news.

Canadian funnyman and actor Leslie Nielsen has passed away in hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

The star of comedy hits such as "Airplane" and the "Naked Gun" series dies of complications from pneumonia, according to his nephew Doug Nielsen, who lives in Richmond BC and confirmed the news with CJOB's sister station CKNW.

He's chasing nice beavers in the sky, now. Happy hunting, good sir.

Don't see the Kelly Green going anywhere. When they did the whole branding campaign a few years back the idea was not to stray away from the logos, color etc so that the our brand would be consistent and thus eventually recognizable. And I fail to see how the colors of our jersey will lead to more wins.

Surprised no one has started a uniform thread!

So..what say you...going back to darker green???

We should probably take a look at the Iowa St. uniforms. If tradition holds, our unis will look a lot like theirs next year.

I seem to remember seeing a blue UNT helmet in Eric Capper's office. Maybe throw that on as a throw back. Wouldn't make any sense but what the hell

I love the Kelly green, wish the green helmet would return, say no to Under Armour and Nike and yes to Addidas. Oh, and no black pants.

Adidas? Never heard anyone ask for them by name in the uniform business - probably my least favorite brand for jerseys.

I'm all for UA or Nike but for f$(Ks sake, can we get ONE brand for our teams????

It's time to go big time and drop our name off the helmet. Green helmet, Logo only, like K-State's PowerCat. :)

I agree...let's just put the Mean Green Eagle on the helmet...that would look awesome!

      Please keep in mind that it looks like shortly they will be changing the roster limits and the amount of players eligible to be put on scholarships. I believe then you will have to keep the minimum of 85 but you will be able to go higher if you choose but with a lower total number of players that can be in the program.

      1. I have us at about 80 scholarship players. This count does not include Makenzie McGill who we almost assuredly need to put on scholarship to keep, and Evan Jackson who deleted his transfer portal post and hasn’t posted anything since. Also does not include high school commit Terrence Lewis who still seems in line to sign in February. That being said, we probably could sign a few more HS guys this February. We have space and likely will have more space after spring to bring in more portal guys this summer if needed. 2. Probably will have a better idea on this after spring when we have a better idea of where we still are weaker than we want to be. We have pretty good numbers at each position. 3. There definitely will be more transfers after spring but pure speculation on who. Larry Moore appears to be passed over at tackle, and I doubt he wants to spend his last season of eligibility on the bench. Same for VJ Bronson at DT. At safety I don’t expect Isheem Young to come back but I could be wrong. He came here because of Caponi and we seem to have been recruiting that position as if he isn’t coming back. BJ Allen at safety looks like he is in danger of getting passed up by multiple guys so he could be better off looking elsewhere for more playing time. I think Zach Evans is similarly buried on the depth chart. I‘d be surprised if any of those 5 guys were still here after spring. Those are 5 spots I pretty much expect to open up just based on guys who are sort of the odd men out at their spots, but looks like they’ll be here through spring to have a chance to carve out bigger roles.

      Many people on this board, constantly talk about competing with SMU. We should also pay attention to what TCU and other programs are doing, so we have a bar to set for ourselves. Ignoring the competition, gets us where we are now.
