Standard, run of the mill, douche-ery by the SMUt fans

At least many agree that it's a good hire, unlike GMG. He's the man for the job, time to support him!

I now have a standard for judging McCarney's success or failure at NT. Any wins, bowl games, etc that he leads us to in the next few years will be all well and good...but not what I'm looking for.

Unless he puts up at least half a hundred on SMU (and limits them to 10 or less) when we play them he is a failure.

He is an excellent recuiter and a CLASS act as a coach. He will bring in his guys from all over including UCF. Big 12 coach of the year. This is a huge hire for the green.

I personally know Dan have been to his home,have had drinks with him and his wife.

He is an excellent recuiter and a CLASS act as a coach. He will bring in his guys from all over including UCF. Big 12 coach of the year. This is a huge hire for the green.

Go read the Iowa State message boards. McCarney was really well respected by the ISU fans. Many NT fans may not be impressed by his resume, but the ones who should know best in hind sight are well aware and appreciate the job McCarney did. The decision has been made, lets get behind this coach.

Yeah, that's wonderful that two slapdicks from own board who admit they wish they went to TCU or were in Fort Worth took the time to stoke the flames over and over again on a four page thread when most of the TCU fans either parroted them or didn't care. We should probably pin this one.

Yeah, anywhere that this McCarney hire isnt hailed as the coronation of Ceasar should be ignored. Better to pick and choose the voices who say what we want to hear.

Not calling you out specifically Quonrr, just letting some see that the emperor's lack of clothing is clear to some in Ft Worth too.

In all honesty, the more negatively the folks on this board react, the more I feel better about the decision.

Your posted thread is not really about what TCU fans think to me though. It's about a bunch of wanna-be Frogs who go to our school going out of there way to spread negative and begging their heroes at killerfrogs to validate them. The thread is little more than one of them saying why this sucks over and over again while showcasing what a terrible persuasive letter writer he is.

I'm such a Coach Chico fan that it's hard to be excited about the new hire but come Spring ball and that first game in the new stadium, I'm sure I'll be pumped then!!

I also wrote a letter to RV:

Dear RV,

Do you think we could wear purple? Perhaps call ourselves the horned lizards? If not, do you think you could score me some tickets at the Amon Carter? I know there are plenty of seats for a top 5 team but it would be nice to not pay given how lame I am

      Mike Mitchell Jr. was out. He's a starter and Minnesota could've really used his shooting. Not as familiar with the other players but they're reserves. This game was a big data point for the Massie over Newell position!

      Awesome win! The only bad part was the commentary from the TV announcers. They confused Newell and Lorient for an extended period of time, stated that Atin Wright originally played at Washington State, and clearly barely knew anything about our program. The play by play announcer gave major 'and boom goes the dynamite' vibes. Some thoughts on the game: - The defense was stellar as we've all come to expect. Delo and Massie were great playing multiple matchups. - Minnesota came out and blitzed our PnRs. We really struggled with the pressure. Eventually we started slipping screens and setting brush screens to counteract it. - Trey Edmonds in the second half forced us to play big. He has a grown man body. Hodge settled on a Lorient/Sissoko combination to match Garcia/Edmonds. - An extended run with a Floyd/Walker/Massie/Lorient/Sissoko lineup including to close the game aside from situational subs. Before the season I would've been shocked that this lineup would close a win on the road against a Big Ten school because of the offense. The spacing was predictably an adventure. Massie wasn't efficient but he kind of made the lineup 'work'. He shows handling, passing, and court awareness in the half court. Feels like he could turn into a secondary ball handler in lineups. - Atin Wright had a meh game by his standards, but still really excited about him this season. He's a bit of a showman and I love it. After getting fouled in transition, he slapped the ball away from the defender and stared at him. On Lorient's massive jam at the end of the game, you can see him standing over Edmonds (who was on the ground). GMG
